Power Supplies
Linear power supplies are generally preferred because of the
lower high frequency noise content.
Stability and noise requirements:
| PS Description | Quantity | Magnets/PS | DI/I |
| Dipole PS | 1 | 12 | ± 5 10-5 (Total) |
| Quadrupole PS | 3 (36) | 12 (1) | ± 1 10-4 (Total) |
| Sextup. S1 and S2 PS (Bipolar) |
2 | 12 | ± 1 10-3 (Total) |
| Sextupole S3 PS (Bipolar) |
1 | 6 | ± 1 10-3 (Total) |
| Octupole PS (Bipolar) |
1 | 12 | ± 1 10-3 (Total) |
| Corrector PS (Bipolar) |
48 | 1 | ± 5 10-4 (Total) |
- For the dipole case, I is the nominal current @ 600 MeV.
But the noise figure must be also measured at the current
relative to 800 MeV.
- For all the other cases the figure noise must be fulfilled
on the full current range.
- The dI/I requirement must be fulfilled in the frequency
range between DC and 200 Hz
- Measurements of the noise from DC to 20 kHz are also
required
- Two options with 3 or 36 (individual) quadrupole PS
are being considered.
